Through our grant from the Foellinger Foundation, we have funds available to pay for up to three videoconferencing programs per k-12 teacher in 2007-08. Some of our favorite content providers include COSI Columbus, NASA, National Baseball Hall of Fame, Mote Marine Labs, Center for Puppetry Arts, and Cleveland Museum of Art. Plus, enjoy local programs from McMillen Center for Health Education and Science Central.
To receive FREE programming from ACELINK, Allen county, Indiana teachers must be employed by an ACELINK-partner district. These include: Bishop Dwenger, East Allen County Schools, Fort Wayne Community Schools, Northwest Allen County Schools and Southwest Allen Schools. Complete the Program Request form at the link below, and fax it to the ACELINK office. We'll do the rest for you!
ACENet (Allen County Education Network) serves as a high-speed education collaboration network among the partners to provide multi-media content from both within member sources, and from contracted educational sources both around the nation and internationally.
The mission of ACELINK, which has a dedicated content coordinator, is to organize activities and promote the culture of using Internet technology and other 21st Century Skills in learning, sharing and collaboration both in Allen County and beyond.
We provide access to videoconferencing programs through our IDeaS directory, Tandberg Connections program, and other sources. We also sponsor original content programs that transform the classroom into an environment where interactive learning is extended beyond the classroom into a world of global learning. Students in Allen County are participating in interactive videoconferences, town hall meetings, collaborations, and other special programs and events.
